Our Seemingly Infinite DNA

Our Seemingly Infinite DNA

Ever ponder what it means to be infinite? I have been sitting with this lately. And then I read this, and for the first time I was blown away to know that the limitlessness is also somehow held within us.

“The average human being is made up of 100 thousand billion cells, according to some estimates. This means that there are approximately 125 billion miles of DNA in a human body – corresponding to 70 round trip tickets between Saturn and the Sun… Your personal DNA is long enough to wrap around the earth 5 millions times.”

*Excerpt from “The Cosmic Serpent: DNA and the Origins of Knowledge” by Jeremy Narby

We are most certainly a microcosm of the universe. We are looking and seeing farther into the universe and space every day as our technology allows us. At the same time we have been able to look deeper into our own make up. Newer technology is consistently allowing us to look at even the smallest particles and molecules and see that they too are made of even smaller particles.

What is clear when we take this journey into our microcosm is that mostly, we are made of energy. Each atom, molecule and particle are surrounded in energy and we are more energy than matter. Just like our vast Universe.
